Ref. 28406-3A FESTIVE time was had by all when Pinehurst Community Association threw a Christmas party for local children.
It was attended by about 50 young people, all of them pupils at the local infant and junior schools.
The guests of honour were the mayor and mayoress of Swindon, Coun Derek Benfield (Lab, Covingham and Nythe) and his wife Pam, who were both only too happy to join in the fun.
Ironically, the man who organised it all, community association committee member Shaun Doole, arrived dressed as Scrooge.
The party was held at the Pinehurst Community Centre, in Beech Avenue.
Community association secretary Eleanor Baughn said: "The children had a wonderful time.
"Each was given a present and a selection box, a party tea and a Christmas cracker.
She added:"There was also enough food left for them to be able to take some home."
