POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl managed to escape an attacker near the Westfield Way underpass, in Haydon Wick.
The man grabbed the teenager by the shoulders and pushed her to the fence during the attack at 3.15pm on November 25. She broke free and ran off.
He is described as white, 5ft 10ins and aged 35 to 40 with short dark brown hair and he was wearing a brown suede jacket.
Police say the girl got off the number 74 bus at Haydon Wick just before being approached and they think other passengers may have seen a man fitting the description close to Westfield Way, Haydon Wick.
Swindon police spokeswoman, Alvina Kumar, said: "The young girl was very upset by her experience. It is not clear what the man's intentions were and we are keen to trace any witnesses who can help us to find him."
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact PC Shaun Dodson at Swindon police on 01793 528111.
