Along with the usual signed section of the Notice of Intended Prosecution, alleged speeders have also sent in a number of Christmas cards with positive messages of support to the Wiltshire Safety Camera Unit.
"It is encouraging to see that people recognise the value of what we are trying to achieve even when they have been caught speeding," said the unit's communications officer Saira Khan.
Every day about ten people are killed on Britain's roads.
Sergeant Nick Blencowe, of the safety camera unit, said:
"We can ensure that some of these individuals stay alive by simply slowing down and keeping within the legal speed limit.
"If we are to reduce the carnage on our roads motorists need to make a New Year's resolution to observe speed limits and prevent more people dying needlessly."
