SALES of detox kits shoot through the roof as soon the Christmas and New Year festivities finish as we all pledge to turn over a new leaf and show our digestive systems a little respect.
The people at Tesco say that their Detox Plan from the supermarket's new premium own-label brand, The Nutri Centre @ Tesco, already outsells any other product in its complementary health range and it expects sales to rocket in the New Year.
The combination of traditional active herbs like extracts of artichoke, dandelion, fennel and green tea is thought to be helpful in assisting the body to cleanse itself of toxins produced and accumulated from the food we eat, from the body's normal metabolism and even from environmental pollutants.
Just dilute 15ml of the peach-flavoured Detox Plan liquid in one litre of water and drink throughout the day over a 10-day period. It is also suggested you reduce your intake of caffeine and sugary and fatty foods to reap the benefits fully.
The Detox Plan costs £9.99 for the 10-day course.
