Wasps trail Zurich Premiership leaders Bath by nine points but the English champions are determined to replace their title rivals at the summit of the league.
The Wycombe-based club bagged a maximum five-point haul from their 34-19 victory over third-place London Irish and director of rugby Warren Gatland has trained his sights on further slashing Bath's lead.
"We knew that whoever lost at the Madejski Stadium would struggle to make it up against leaders Bath and we want to finish first not runners-up ahead of the play-offs," said the Kiwi.
Richard Birkett (2), Tom Voyce, Mark van Gisbergen and Ayoola Erinle all crossed as Wasps clinched their fourth consecutive Premiership win, while Michael Horak scored the Exiles' solitary try.
South African Steph Nel admitted he needs a miracle to keep Rotherham afloat in the Premiership after watching the Titans collapse to a 35-7 defeat at Sale.
Austin Healey, Graham Rowntree, Freddie Tuilagi, Neil Back and Neil Baxter all crossed as Leicester's 39-11 triumph over Leeds at Welford Road finally gave beleaguered Tigers director of rugby Dean Richards reason to cheer.
Jonny Wilkinson could be a doubt for England's Six Nations campaign after his comeback was curtailed by what appeared to be a recurrence of his shoulder injury, during his side's 23-19 win over Northampton Saints yesterday.
