A HAMPSHIRE company has won an award from the British Association of Landscape Industries for a project in Fordingbridge.
Kieron Beattie Landscapes received the award at a ceremony at the London Marriott Hotel, in London, attended by 500 guests.
The winning project was for the gardens designed and created for retirement development Timbermill Court.
It was designed by English Courtyard landscape architects Tim Lynch Associates and implemented by Kieron Beattie Landscapes.
According to the judges, the gardens were excellent.
"Given that prior to development this was a builder's yard, the transformation is remarkable," the judges commented.
Christopher Thornhill, managing director of English Courtyard Developments, said: "The challenge was that the gardens were on the edge of a flood plain.
"The central courtyard garden had to be capable of accommodating excess water in the event of heavy rainfall.
"Kieron Beattie Landscapes met this challenge by putting in the infrastructure to save it being washed away.
"We use this company because they get it right they are not just reliable, but produce quality work."
This year's awards attracted entries from 120 schemes. These entries covered all aspects of the interior and exterior landscaping industry.
