A SWINDON man who died in a road accident at the weekend is due to be formally identified tomorrow.
The 32-year-old was driving a black Lotus Elise on the A429 at Shooters Hill near Cirencester on Saturday at 2.40pm.
He was travelling towards Stow-on-the-Wold when his car was in collision with a red Mercedes Benz. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes Benz and one passenger were taken to Cheltenham General Hospital for minor injuries. The road was closed for five hours. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact PC Wayne Usher of Gloucestershire Police on 0845 0901234.
Police are also investigating a crash in Highworth Road near Faringdon in which a man died.
The man, who has not been formally identified, was released from his Mitsubishi Charisma by fire crews following the crash late on Sunday. Thames Valley Police said it appeared the car had left the road and hit a telegraph pole. Witnesses are asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 0845 8505505.
