A STAINED glass window has been unveiled at a Lechlade school in memory of one of its former governors - exactly two years after his death.
The window, in the entrance to St Lawrence's Primary School, is a lasting tribute to Joseph Chubb.
Mr Chubb, who lived at Lechlade Mill, served as a school governor for four years, and was chairman for a year before he died of a brain tumour at the age of 61 in December 2001.
The window was designed and crafted by Mr Chubb's wife Sarianne Durie, a professional stained glass artist.
The window, which depicts an oak tree, was unveiled by the retired Bishop of Ramsbury, Peter Vaughan, in front of pupils past and present.
The glass also contains a number of birds, reflecting Mr Chubb's love of ornithology.
Ms Durie said: "As time goes by Joseph will be forgotten but it will always be there for the children to enjoy."
