HOMEOWNERS are being asked to express their opinion on the future of the religious site set for Leigh Park.
The proposed religious centre is currently the subject of a tug-of-war between Jehovah's Witnesses and Westbury Churches Together.
Now residents are voting on which religious group they want in a survey organised by Leigh Park Community Association.
Russell Hawker, councillor and chairman of the association, said: "We have considered the needs of the residents on the estate.
"They would benefit from our plans to use the site to build a community hall for Westbury Churches Together and a new children's nursery."
Developer Persimmon has the final say on the new owners but so far only the Jehovah's Witnesses have expressed an interest to West Wiltshire District Council.
David Holmes, secretary for the search for a new Kingdom Hall, said: "We have expressed an interest and although things are hotting up it is difficult to comment at the moment."
Early results indicate 80 per cent of residents support the Westbury Churches Together bid.
A meeting of the Southern Area Planning Committee on February 5 will debate both claims and is expected to recommend a decision to Persimmon.
