YOUNG dads are set to be the centre of attention under a new initiative by the Wiltshire Youth Arts Partnership.
Fathers under the age of 21, from across the county, can now join art, video and DJ clubs resulting in a nationwide presentation later in the year.
The workshops aim to celebrate fatherhood and help young men become more involved in bringing up their children.
The first meeting between young dads takes place at the Eden Vale Centre in Westbury on January 14.
Angela Stribley, at Wiltshire Youth Arts partnership, said: "We aim to give young dads a chance to find out more about parenting and give them some time as young mums are often the centre of attention.
"Hopefully we can show them in a different light because young parents often get a raw deal."
The Wiltshire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership and Wiltshire County Council Youth Development Service are supporting the project.
Young fathers must reserve a place at the meetings or workshops by contacting Angela Stribley on (01249) 716681.
