A GARAGE in Bradford on Avon has been doing its bit for the community by raising more than £500 for local charities with a grand Christmas draw.
Raffle tickets had been selling like hot cakes at Oval Motor Company garage on Trowbridge Road.
Bradford councillor Peter Leach pulled out the winning tickets on December 23 when two lucky entrants won a digital camera.
The garage raffled gifts sent to them by suppliers, which, along with a collection tin, raised £520 to be split between Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Dorothy House, Winsley.
Manager Sandie Hayter said: "This is the first time we have done anything like this and you do not usually find garages fundraising like this. Now I will have to persuade our suppliers to send us more merchandise so we can do the same next year."
