TWO Swindon slimmers were thrilled to rub shoulders with soap star Martin Kemp at a national awards ceremony.
Slimming consultants Sharon Painter, 35, from Moredon, and Samantha Grant, from Abbey Meads, both run Slimming World groups in Gorse Hill and Toothill.
They celebrated the achievements of Slimming World members from across the country, along with Eastenders star and 80s pop legend Martin Kemp.
Mrs Painter said: "It was brilliant meeting him. He was so charming and we had a wonderful time."
The awards ceremony took place in a conference centre in Birmingham in November.
They are now gearing up for a busy January, as people try to realise their New Year resolutions.
Mrs Painter said: "We are expecting lots of new members because people know you can join and lose weight but still enjoy eating. It is the best way to start New Year."
Since joining Slimming World last February, Mrs Painter has lost three-and-a-half stone.
She said: "I feel great and can still eat all sorts of food."
Slimming World sessions take place in the Gorse Hill Community Centre, in Chapel Street, and Toothill Community Centre, in Dunwich Drive, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Each session costs £3.95 and there is a £5 joining fee.
