THOUSANDS of Swindonians, myself included, occupy houses built in the 1920s and 30s which still retain their original roofs and, apart from the odd slate or ridge tile, have put their owners to little expense.
Swindon Council taxpayers would, I am sure, be interested to know why the comparatively new Greendown School now requires re-roofing at a cost of £195,000 (EA Dec 16).
