Cancer sufferer Abigail Taylor-Silk is delighted the appeal has raised so much money and is encouraging people to continue with the good work in the New Year.
The teenager had her own good news to celebrate this Christmas. After months of gruelling treatment, doctors have discovered that the courageous 13-year-old is winning her battle against the disease.
A scan at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford has shown that the treatment has killed off malignant tumours in her neck and chest.
Abigail, of St Andrew's Close, Wroughton, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in April 2002.
Since then, she has undergone months of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant operation.
Abigail, who attends Ridgeway School, said: "I'm so pleased I got the results before Christmas. I felt very emotional. It's like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
"There are still some smaller nodes but doctors aren't sure whether they're affects of the treatment or not.
"I'm pleased people are raising so much money for the appeal."
Wroughton residents have raised £6,000 to make Abigail's dream of swimming with dolphins come true.
She said: "I have been really touched as so many people have helped me by raising money. A lot of them are friends but some are complete strangers."
