WOOTTON Bassett Colts ran up a 52-0 victory over their Dorchester counterparts in their latest Dorset & Wilts Merit Table match.
After a surprise pre-Christmas defeat at Wimborne, the Bassett visitors produced a powerhouse display to thump Dorchester by eight tries and force the game to be completed, at its 50-point maximum, just 10 minutes into the second half.
In an opening period of six tries where Bassett's pack delivered a torrent of quality possession, strong running left wing Stuart McInnnes continued his impressive strikerate with two well-taken tries.
Soon after, the Basset front row of Tom Fidler, Nick Moore and Sean Davies delivered another strike against the head and outside-half Daniel David ghosted through from 40 metres.
Fidler himself got on the trysheet after a bursting 25 metre run, and openside Tom Suter added another.
To complete the half Duncan Fulling carved a clever angle through midfield and finished with a typical solo run from halfway.
Shortly into the second period powerful centre Ben Lyon collected a try following another creative midfield move involving scrum-half and man-of-the-match Tyler Barnes and Dan David, and the final try of the game was collected from short range by Fulling.
