QinetiQ'S in-house magazine, iQ, has for the second year running been successful in winning a regional award at the prestigious Communicators in Business South West Regional Awards ceremony, held at the Aztec Hotel, Bristol, last November.
Karen Bright, who has been deputy editor of iQ for two years, was announced as outright class winner for the copy writing category.
Her success came despite stiff competition from household name companies such as Nationwide, the Bank of Ireland, Somerfield and Orange.
Her winning feature article, which appeared in the magazine's February edition, was on the subject of nanotechnology.
iQ's editor Waynne Meek accompanied Karen to the awards ceremony.
He said: "I knew we would be up against tough competition in this category, so I was very pleased to find out we had won the class award."
Stephen Williams, south west region chairman of the British Association of Communicators in Business, added: "The judges felt that the feature was written in a lively, informative way that everyone could understand and really brought the subject matter alive."
The iQ team now plans to enter the magazine in the BACiB national competition.
That event is scheduled for April.
BACiB is the UK's leading professional body for in-house, freelance and agency staff involved in corporate, employee or other business communications.
