EIGHT blood donors, who have each donated 75 units of blood, have been thanked by the National Blood Service.
Charles Stuart of Mellow Ground, Haydon Wick, Raymond Kirk of Tees Close, Greenmeadow, Catherine Kearns of Drove Road, Keith Gubbins of Exmouth Street, Kingshill, David Elliot of Ross Gardens, Swindon, Michael Compton of Upper Widhill Lane, Blunsdon, Hugh Barton of Idmiston Road, Porton and Kenneth Manning of Common Platt, Purton, were presented with the NBS Emerald Award at the Blood Donor Awards.
The NBS Emerald Award was presented to recognise that they have donated more than 75 units of blood a figure achieved by only three per cent of the NBS' blood donors. Each donor helped up to 225 patients across the region.
