A NEW group is being launched in Swindon to help adults with Asperger Syndrome, an autistic disorder.

Organiser Freddie Bilimori said: "We are doing this so that we can give support to the people who really need it.

"People with Asperger Syndrome find it difficult to read the signals which most of us take for granted.

"As a result they find it hard to communicate, empathise and interact with others."

The group, Swindon Adult Asperger Support Group (SAAS), is being set up by parents and carers of adults with the disorder.

There will be a launch meeting on Wednesday at 25 Morley Street, Swindon, starting at 10am.

The group will help those caring for adults with Asperger Syndrome and milder autism and focus on people aged 16 years and above.

Interested parents and carers should call either Sally on 01793 770079 or Liz on 01793 634909.
