VILLAGERS in Easton Royal are hoping supporters will get right behind their panto to help boost fundraising for their old hall. The hall, a former First World War Army hut, has given sterling service to the community but is now showing signs of its age.
On Saturday there will be matinee and evening performance of a pantomime specially commissioned for the hall appeal.
A Right Royal Carry On! Full of Eastern Promise will be presented by villagers in the hall.
The village hall committee has a rolling programme of repairs and improvements.
It is hoped to make the hall suitable for disabled use at an estimated cost of £4,000, and carry out a £5,000 refurbishment to the kitchen.
In total the rolling programme of improvements will cost £30,000.
The pantomime is just one of many ways of raising money towards the restoration of the hall.
The evening performance is a sell-out but some tickets remain for the 2pm matinee and can be reserved by calling (01672) 811045.
