STRATTON Juniors under 14s lost their first game since October 2002 when they went down 2-1 at Fairford.

But a superb battling performance from Fairford, with goals from Henry Rogers and Jack Gannon, threw the title race wide open.

Bassett led 2-1 just before half-time thanks to goals from Phil Tearle and Dominic Juggins, Matthew Hobbs having given Westbrook the lead in the second minute.
However, Josh Digby equalised for Westbrook on the stroke of half-time and it was all Westbrook in the second half. There were two more goals for Hobbs, two for Guy Whinfrey and one for Matthew Godsell as Westbrook used the slope and their physical strength to overpower the visitors.
