Wiltshire people who want to make a difference in 2004 are invited to make a New Year's resolution to help children and young people in need.
Wiltshire County Council is calling for people to think about the many ways they could help children and young people by acting as foster carers, or as independent visitors for children looked after by the local authority or as mentors to help young offenders.
John Woodhouse, the county council's children's rights officer, urged people to think about volunteering.
He said: "At this time of year, people all over Wiltshire will be thinking about making New Year resolutions.
"One of the most valuable and worthwhile things they could do would be to offer their help and support to children and young people who are in need."
