Ref. 11858SERIOUS setbacks have not deterred Dawn Phillips from following her dream to run local cafs. Just four months after she took over the running of the caf at Devizes Leisure Centre, she has accepted the franchise of the caf at Upavon Golf Club.
The good news is the end of a rollercoaster year for Mrs Phillips, of Little Cheverell.
She was twice made redundant from the leisure centre caf, but far from being daunted, it only spurred her on to bid to run it.
She and her husband Mike eventually got the franchise in September. The caf was renamed Dawn's Place and Mrs Phillips now offers home cooked food seven days a week.
Customers even book tables so they can sample her specialities including venison pie.
The Upavon caf will also be called Dawn's Place and will serve the same kind of food.
Mrs Phillips, 39, said: "It's very exciting having two cafs.
"Twelve months ago I had nothing after being made redundant.
" Now things have moved on for the better in just four months."
