A SKATEBOARD ramp is under consideration for the Rabley Wood View play area in Marlborough. Town councillors have given their tentative support to the idea put forward by Bob Dobie, chairman of the Rabley Wood View Residents' Association.
Mr Dobie said the only skateboarding facility in the town was the ramp by the Youth Centre on the opposite side of town, which meant youngsters had to cross busy roads.
Town clerk Graham Gittings told the Town Council Recreation said he believed a new ramp would cost about £10,000, but Mr Dobie was looking into the possibility of getting grant aid.
Coun Richard Allen said an environmental study would have to be carried out.
Councillors agreed to wait for the residents' association to come back with costings and suggestions of where the ramp should be sited.
