CALNE Rugby Club are looking to build for the future by launching their new junior section at John Bentley School on Saturday.
Premiership leaders Bath will be sending senior squad members, academy players and coaching staff down to Calne to help with the launch and coach youngsters.
Players from years seven, eight and nine are being urged to participate.
The club aims to recruit enough students to form teams in the U12, U13 and U14 age groups. Boys and girls arewelcome in these age groups and parents and other family members being invited to watch.
Calne RFC chairman Sean Lambourne said: "Boys and girls will have the opportunity to practice exercise routines formulated to develop their running and ball handling skills as well as participate in contact and no contact games."
The open day starts at 10am at the school with a training session provided by Bath and Calne coaches. There will be a 20 minute refreshment break at 11.50 am followed by supervised games.
The session will end at 1pm and everyone attending will be invited to watch Calne's senior side play Bradford-on-Avon at the Anchor Road Recreation Ground at 2.30pm.
Lambourne added: "Not only will this new section provide a solid platform for the future of senior rugby in Calne it will more importantly provide the youth of Calne with a much needed productive outlet for their energy."
