BUILDER Cedric Taylor will soon be looking for a new project when refurbishment of Rialto Restaurant, Bradford on Avon, comes to an end.

Mr Taylor was offered six months work nearly four years ago on the Grade II listed building in Bradford but once he and his team got started they realised they had taken on a much bigger project than anticipated.

Mr Taylor said: "It has taken nearly four years and there have been lots of challenges. When we first arrived it was quite frightening because I believe the building was on its way out.

"When we started working on the kitchen everything had to be dug out by hand and carried out in small bags."

During renovations to transform the house into a restaurant which seats over 100 people, two Roman carvings were uncovered, one of which is on display.

The restaurant is now open and Mr Taylor is working behind the scenes on finishing touches. He said: "We are working on the back of the restaurant and building a patio and garden which will be great in the summer.

"It is already time to think of the next project though."
