A COMPANY which has provided 68 new playgrounds in schools across Wiltshire has become so busy it has hired an operations manager.

Playforce, based in Holt, has taken on Jonathan Peters to help meet increasing demand for its services.

Mr Peters joins the company from Bath and North East Somerset District council, where he gained 14 years experience as grounds maintenance manager.

Playforce, which operates from the Old Tannery, has provided new playgrounds at primary schools in Trowbridge, Warminster, Bradford on Avon, Atworth, Westbury, Corsham and Box.

The company website says: "Children love to learn, with play providing a crucial role in development.

"We recognise the importance of play and have designed an exciting and interactive range of play equipment to stimulate any child."

The company creates timber trails that allow youngsters to have fun while improving their balance, agility and co-ordination skills.

For younger children, from two years, the company creates hexagonal towers, which can be linked together or form a part of a timber trail.

The company also provides constructions to help encourage imaginative play, including abacus, chalkboards, pirate ships and sand pits.
