A SOLDIER accused of stabbing a man at a house in Melksham on Christmas Eve will appear before a crown court judge on Monday.
Neil Hudson, who is based at Stanley Barracks at Bovington Camp, Dorset, appeared before Chippenham magistrates on Monday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The 27-year-old is accused of stabbing Kevin Clark at a house in Shackleton Way.
Hudson was giving first aid to Mr Clark when police arrived at the scene around 5.30pm.
Mr Clark was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Hudson, originally from Abbots Langley, Watford, was released on conditional bail to appear before Swindon Crown Court on Monday.
He is not allowed to contact Mr Clark or case witnesses and is not allowed into Wiltshire unless attending an appointment with a solicitor or appearing in court.
