SALISBURY City stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 15 games with a 2-2 draw away at fellow promotion-hopefuls Folkestone Invicta thanks to a second half double from substitute Matt Tubbs.

Tubbs, who missed the New Year's Day clash with Newport IoW through suspension, started on the bench as manager Nick Holmes named an unchanged side for the trip to Kent from that which had beaten the Islanders 2-0.

However, trailing to John Ayling's 54th minute goal, Holmes introduced Tubbs for Steve Strong and the sub made no mistake latching onto Craig Davis' cross from the left on 74 minutes.

Ayling again put the home side in front with just three minutes to go.

But Tubbs popped up in the closing seconds to level the scores for the second time.

Both sides had their chances in the opening exchanges with Ayling, a replacement for Folkestone's top scorer Allan Tait, blasting over the bar.

City's leading striker Adam Wallace forced Invicta 'keeper Tony Kessell to save on 13 minutes before Strong went close.

It was end-to-end stuff with the home side creating scoring opportunities before Whites began to look dangerous.

Kessell denied Strong on 30 minutes then produced a fine double stop to block first Wallace's effort, and then Strong's.

Whites were caught cold after the break however when Ayling netted nine minutes into the half.
