CHILDREN in Wiltshire are being given the chance to design a new floor for their classroom in a nationwide competition.
Youngsters at Lowbourne Junior and Forest and Sandridge Schools in Melksham and Fitzmaurice Primary School in Bradford on Avon are entering the competition, being organised by the Contract Flooring Association (CFA) as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.
For the winners of the competition there will be the chance to see their design installed in their school.
Richard Wollerton, executive director of the CFA, said: "Kids love creating things and here is our chance to show them how exciting our industry can be, while giving something back to their community at the same time.
"We are backing the Government's call for industry to educate the next generation now.
"There are great careers to be had in contract flooring and yes it can be fun, and on this occasion we're proud to say it is kids' stuff."
The winners will be announced in May.
Children will see their brand new classroom floors installed by the end of the year.
