ADULT education in Warminster is getting a boost with the news that Wiltshire College plans to build a permanent base in the town.
The college, which has sites across the county, currently operates from temporary buildings in The Avenue. Planning permission expires for these at the end of 2004 and college bosses now hope to replace them with a purpose built facility.
The college's Warminster site provides IT training for adults as well as opportunities to study for GCSEs and A-levels and develop art and craft skills. New courses could be added if the college gets a permanent home.
Principal George Bright said: "There will be scope to expand what we can offer in Warminster. The environment will be improved as will the quality of facilities available and it will also be cheaper for us to run."
