In response to misleading headline Man Slashed in Face Outside Chicago Rock Caf.

The management of Chicago Rock Caf, Trowbridge, feel the article Man Slashed in Face Outside Chicago Rock Caf is misleading for the following reasons.

First, this incident took place at the entrance to Trowbridge Park, not outside Chicago Rock Caf.

The incident was not witnessed by any of our trained and registered door staff, who were on duty at the time, but soon became apparent to them when the injured man walked past the front door of Chicago Rock Caf in obvious pain.

The door staff were quick to offer assistance and put into use their first aid knowledge to attend to the injured man when they saw him approaching the front door.

Management contacted the town's CCTV control and called the emergency services to the scene, while maintaining excellent overall calm and ensuring customers queuing in the street were not disrupted.

Both the head doorman of Chicago Rock Caf and the general manager administered first aid, despite the injured party initially refusing it, and ensured he was cared for until paramedics arrived.

The injured man was not a customer at Chicago Rock Caf and this incident is in no way connected to the venue.

Chicago Rock Caf prides itself on its high standard of customer safety and care and provides customers with a safe and friendly environment in which to be entertained.

While understanding Chicago Rock Caf's concern and publishing the letter in full, we do not accept that the headline or the story in last week's issue was misleading. The article did not state that the incident took place in Chicago Rock Caf or that the establishment was in any way involved. Reference to the well-known location was made purely to help readers' identify where the incident took place and the information was supplied by the police Editor
