CHILDREN and adults took to the dance floor as Studley Green residents celebrated the start of the New Year in style.
A magician, disco and police finger-printing were among the highlights of a family fun day held at Studley Green Community Centre on Saturday.
The event, jointly funded by Trowbridge Town Council and AGAPE Community Church, attracted around 50 children accompanied by parents.
Tesco helped out on the catering side by providing food vouchers.
Magic Pete laid on the entertainment while face painting and games kept children amused throughout the community event.
Even Father Christmas made a belated visit to hand out gifts to surprised children.
Cllr Jeff Osborn, who attended the party along with fellow ward councillor Bob Brice, said: "It is very much a community event with a strong following.
"It all ended up with everybody dancing, not just the kids. A great time was had by all."
Organisers have confirmed the event is definitely not a one-off with plans for another family fun day in the summer.
