DESPITE a record-breaking 13-game unbeaten league run, Cirencester manager Brian Hughes refuses to entertain thoughts of a title charge.

The Centurions have not tasted defeat in the Western Division since September 9 when they were turned over by Bedworth at home.

In fact, the expunged opening day win at the now defunct Atherston apart, Ciren lost each of their first four games.

But Hughes' men have not been beaten since and they travel to Stourport Swifts tomorrow with their best ever Dr Martens League sequence behind them.

Ciren lay sixth, 19 points behind leaders Redditch but with five games in hand.

Just one victory from those spare fixtures will lift the Gloucestershire side to third and many are tipping them to be Redditch's biggest threat.

But the Ciren boss is not one to talk up his side's chances and prefers to let results speak volumes.

"It's all ifs, buts and maybes at the moment," said Hughes. "We picked up nine points out of nine over Christmas and that leaves us in a good position but the table is still false at this stage.

"We will only see a true reflection when the top sides have played each other.

"I'm not one for predictions and we're not getting carried away. At some stage, the run is going to end and a lot depends on how quickly we bounce back from that."

Hughes is expecting to re-sign Michael Jackson from Weston-super-Mare in time for the trip to Stourport.

The midfielder moved from the Corinium to the Seagulls last season but has failed to command a starting place.

Long-term injuries aside, Jackson joins a full-strength squad.
