SWINDON SUPERMARINE are managerless again after Ray Baverstock tendered his resignation for the second time in three months.
The 40-year-old informed club officials of his decision on Wednesday night.
Baverstock originally quit the post due to work commitments in October but was tempted back a week later by the offer of an improved two-year deal.
But the former Swindon Town defender never formally signed the contract.
Again, Baverstock has given work commitments as the reason for stepping down, though it is hoped he will remain in control for the visit of Sutton Coldfield tomorrow while Marine chairman Steve Moore and his board search for a new manager for the seventh time in less than two and a half years.
Moore said: "Ray's decision came as a complete shock to us.
"We understand it is down to his work commitments again.
"We will discuss the situation with regards a replacement but we've asked Ray to stay and help us get three points on Saturday.
"He has done a first-class job for us during his time here but the players, sponsors and supporters are the most important thing in my thoughts now."
Moore is not actively seeking applications for the vacancy and seems set to approach a selection of appropriate candidates.
Baverstock was unavailable for comment last night.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN are without a fixture as most of their Premier Division rivals are in FA Trophy action.
Steve White's improving side will travel to Eastbourne next Saturday.
