Ref. 28530-27SWINDON CANCER APPEAL: Bad hair days will soon be a thing of the past for student nurse Ruth Yates in fact it will be a long time before she has hair days of any type.
The mother-of-five, of Parkstone Walk, Park South, will shave her head to raise money for the Swindon Cancer Appeal, in aid of Macmillan nurses, and Prospect Hospice, in Wroughton.
Ruth, 40, said: "I used to love biology at school and have always wanted to do nursing. I decided to wait until my children were all at school before enrolling in New College.
"When I started learning about cancer I decided to raise money for Macmillan nurses."
The head shave will take place at New College at 11am on Wednesday January 21.
