TOMMY MOONEY revels in rifling home spectacular goals but admits he can take a leaf out of Sam Parkin's book when it comes to the 'bread and butter' finishes.
The 32-year-old goes into today's clash with Sheffield Wednesday full of confidence after his brace against Bournemouth last week.
His first goal was the most memorable strike but Mooney was more delighted with the simple second.
He said: "It was a great feeling to see the first one fly in.
"It seemed to happen in a flash but then the quicker it happens, the easier the finish is.
"I was probably happier with the second goal because you have to analyse what's going on around you, anticipate the outcome and get your positional play right to tuck away the chance.
"Strikers are always looking for goals but if you end the season with 20 or 30, you accept they aren't all going to be 'great' goals.
"You have to be able to notch up a fair percentage of bread and butter finishes. I think I need to be getting more of those type of goals.
"Sam Parkin is a great example of someone who enjoys a lot of success in that regard. In my case, the only two that readily spring to mind are the second goal last Saturday and the close range effort at Bournemouth earlier in the season."
Mooney, one of the few Town players to have played at Hillsborough before, insists there is nothing to fear this afternoon.
He said: "Personally, I feel a lot more confident having scored the goals last week and I think the gaffer is right when he talks about a win in this match making a statement.
"Having climbed into the top six, we want to stay there."
A brief spell with Sheffield United last season means Mooney could be in for some 'treatment' from the Wednesday fans but he is only concerned by what happens on the pitch.
He said: "I've had mixed results at Hillsborough in the past.
"The fans turn out in numbers to support their team but they also have high expectations.
"That can sometimes lead to frustration in the stands."
Steve Robinson is expected to replace the injured Stefani Miglioranzi in the centre of Town's midfield while Owls boss Chris Turner will stick with the same side that won 2-1 at Wrexham last week.
Turner, who led his side to a 3-2 opening day win at the County Ground, said of Town: "They are a good footballing team but we have generally done well against sides that play good football. We have to transfer our away form to Hillsborough."
