ONE of the biggest names in British contemporary dance is to present a national premier performance in Swindon.
The performance marks the launch of a partnership between Swindon National Dance Agency and the Univ-ersity of Bath's newly formed Institute of Interdisciplinary Arts.
The partnership will pave the way for more performances by world-class dancers in the town.
Henri Oguike and his company of seven dancers will present a programme of contrasting dances on a national tour, which opens at the Wyvern Theatre at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 28.
The company's director John Struthers said: "This marks the beginning of an important partnership which will bring even more top-class dance to Swindon and Wiltshire.
Swindon Dance director Marie McCluskey said: "Swindon Dance is delighted to be working in this exciting partnership and with such a dynamic young company as Henri Oguike, which brings inspirational dance and dancers to the region."
Tickets cost £11 for adults and £9 for concessions, with school groups priced at £6.50 per student with one free ticket for a teacher.
