A professional Shiatsu healer is turning his hands away from humans and on to the bodies of cars. As a practitioner of Japanese massage for four years, Mike Jeffers, of Nine Elms, used acupressure to ease people's aching joints.
But the 41-year-old has decided to re-focus his energies on fixing scratches and other cosmetic vehicle damage.
"With Shiatsu I was working on human bodies and now I'll be working on metal bodies," joked Mike, who has a degree in automated engineering.
"I've always been interested in helping people achieve their full potential in my healing work, and I'm taking that same approach in helping people keep their car in tip-top condition."
The secrets to both skills are patience, observation and attention to detail, he said.
Mike launched his mobile service, TrimLine Systems, with his wife Barbara earlier this month, offering quick repairs to scuffed bumpers, scratched panels, damaged wing mirrors and fabrics.
The couple will be at Asda Wal-Mart in the North Swindon Centre car park this weekend demonstrating their new service and offering free quotes.
