Ref. 28550-35WINNING the North Swindon Lions lottery might not make you a millionaire but it raises much needed cash for local causes in a unique way.
The first draw of 2004 was made yesterday and there are still some calendars available to buy.
Each calendar has a number printed on the back. Every Friday a draw is made at Bevirs solicitors in Regent Circus.
North Swindon Lions organiser Tony Jarvis said: "If your number comes up you have the chance to win £5 on every working day of the year or £100 on the first working day of each month.
"I think our lottery calendar is the first one of its kind in the country."
The first seven numbers of 2004 have been drawn and six people will have won £5 while one lucky winner will pocket £100. The winning numbers are published on page three of the Evening Advertiser every Saturday.
All money raised goes to needy causes in North Swindon.
Calendars are available to buy at £4.80 from Bevirs solicitors in Regent Circus; Minuteman Press in Cricklade Road, Gorse Hill; John Samuel Hairdressers in Bridge Street; Highworth Lions Shop in Highworth plus all Arkells Brewery.
