IT'S great to see a market town living up to its name in this day and age.
So many markets have folded as people shop in out of town malls and supermarkets and can no longer spend a Saturday morning going to their butcher, baker and greengrocer and browsing around street stalls.
But in Highworth, which has had a charter for a market since medieval times, there has been a big revival. Recently there were fears the trading would stop when stalls dwindled down to four. Now there are 15 and the event is attracting the public back into the town centre.
Once again the market is at the heart of the town it helped to prosper centuries ago.
