AFC Stratton are the new leaders of the Premier Division after a 3-2 win over a battling Purton Reserves side.

Purton Boss Ian Restell said: "The game was a credit to the Wiltshire League. It had everything. I thought our lads deserved a draw against a very good Stratton side."

In a hectic first-half, play switched from end to end but it was Stratton who took the lead courtesy of Dwain Quinn's strike.

Not to be outdone, Purton hit back when Sam Collier found the net from 30 yards.

Two quick second-half goals from Rick Casey and Mickey Solan put Stratton in control.

Purton never gave up and, in the closing stages, substitute Adam Woolford pulled a goal back.

Stratton boss Stef Kucysnski said he was more than happy with the result: " It was a good competitive match. I thought the young Purton side played well but I think we did enough to take the points."

Stratton were also boosted by the news that Gareth Davies has snubbed a permanent move to Hellenic League Fairford Town.

Wroughton hit Pewsey for six on their travels, braces from Jamie Richards and Lee Curtis along with singles from Tom Goody and Tom Dingle wrapping up victory.

Aldbourne gained revenge for last week's defeat at Malmesbury beating Vics 2-0.

In a scrappy first half, neither side found the net but on the hour Darren Woodfield got on the end of a good cross to break the deadlock. Jimmy Wright made sure of victory, adding a second 15 minutes later.

Aldbourne boss Pete Orsi said: "It wasn't a pretty game, a bit scrappy at times but we got the points from two quality crosses into the box."

Devizes Town Reserves gained a comfortable 4-0 win over visitors Warminster, scoring two goals in each half, Marcus Wallen and Richard Mansell scoring doubles.

Goals from Gavin Eyre, Walid Bakali and Adam Shakell gave Trowbridge Town a 3-0 win over Shrewton United Reserves in the Corsham Print Senior Cup third round.

Bromham's unbeaten run came to an end in Junior Division 1 when they were beaten 2-1 by leaders Trowbridge Town Reserves.

A double from Matt Minnus gave Trowbridge victory, while Bromham were guilty of missing a first-half penalty.

Third-placed Wanborough United were gunned down by Paul Clegg who scored four of Sherston's five goals.

Tony Vizard was also on target in the 5-1 win.

Wootton Bassett United continue their fine form, gaining a 3-0 win over Purton A Chris Cooper, Geoff Roberts and Steve Howse scoring.

Westside scored four first-half goals against Biddestone as they clinched a 4-2 win. John Webb, Ricky Hewittson, Chris McConnell and Ben Kimber scored for Westside.

Junior 2 leaders New College hit Green Baize for six. Anthony Hogg , Matt Chamberlain, and Jordan King got first-half goals, and Sam Moore notched a hat-trick after the break to complete the rout.

Trax kept the pressure up on leaders New College, winning 2-0 over QT Swindon Wayne Petrie and Danny Sealey scoring.

Minety consolidated third spot with a 3-0 away win over West Swindon and Blyskawica came out best in seven-goal thriller beating Pinehurst OB 4-3.

Swindon Asians lost 2-1 to Calne Reserves after extra time in the second round of the Fountain Trophies Junior Cup.

Trailing 1-0 for most of the game Asians snatched a last-minute equaliser courtsey of Jason Edwards.

But Calne netted in the first period of extra-time and held on to go through.
