Ref. 28588-31MINI enthusiasts are gearing up for a sponsored jaunt to Salisbury next month.
Peggy-Sue Ford, 23, from Penhill, Swindon, has organised the drive to raise money for The Green Hut one of the charities the Evening Advertiser supported in its Christmas Appeal.
The Green Hut, in Cricklade Road, Gorse Hill, serves families and the elderly with discounted lunches.
Mrs Ford said: "I chose to support the Green Hut, having eaten there and really enjoyed it."
Her son, Connor, five, also attended the Christmas party, which went ahead thanks to donations from Evening Advertiser readers.
Mrs Ford's love affair with minis began three years ago when her husband, Duane, 24, bought her a blue Mini Clubman for a special Valentine's Day present.
She said: "We are both Mini mad and now own three two Clubmans and a red Mini Mayfair."
So taken with the cars, Mrs Ford decided to set up her own club, called Hub Cap's Mini Club, for fellow enthusiasts.
The charity event, which takes place on February 29, will take the scenic route to Salisbury, passing through the picturesque village of Avebury and Stonehenge.
Mini fans who want to join the 95-mile journey should aim to raise more than £20 in sponsorship money.
Mrs Ford said: "We want to raise as much money as possible and hope to have a brilliant time on the way."
