Ref. 28552-85A MAGICIAN has taken over a Wootton Bassett chip shop to celebrate its success in a prestigious industry award for the second year running.
Harbour Fish and Chip Shop, in the High Street, has won the Seafish Frier Quality Award for its high standards in hygiene and high quality in frying.
Nigel Male, formerly an entertainer on cruise ships, is managing the store while its owner Robert O'Keefe is away on holiday.
He has promised to make a balloon animal for any child who comes into the shop.
Nigel runs Boulford Fish And Chips, in Salisbury, which has also been given the award this year.
He said: "There are only four fish and chip shops in Wiltshire who have the Seafish Frier award.
"It shows they are the elite in the fish frying industry because each shop has to go through a rigorous inspection," he said.
"I learned lots of tricks working on the ships so thought I'd make a bit of magic while away from my own shop."
An inspector assesses the shop's image, staff training, and quality of food.
