THAMESDOWN crashed to a 99-59 defeat at the hands of East Region group leaders Carterton in their opening Wessex League game of 2004.
They lost on all four rinks and went down 16 points to nil.
At Carterton Ray Ford's rink lost 24-13 and Chris Cheesley went down 29-12.
At the Oasis Brian Brown's rink lost 27-17, despite leading 12-0 after eight ends, while Tony Flemington's quartet were pipped 19-17.
This coming Sunday (10am) in re-arranged Wessex League matches Thamesdown meet Rivermead, while Westlecot face Oxford City and County.
