CHRISTOPHER, the replica of Salisbury's famous giant, moves out from his home in the Arts Centre as workmen begin refurbishment of the centre.
Christopher has been offered a home in Fordingbridge by funeral director Ian Newman, but the long-term future of Christopher and his hobby horse Hob Nob lies in the hands of Salisbury residents.
The original Christopher, which is many hundreds of years old, is on display in Salisbury Museum.
It is too fragile to be brought out for public displays.
The replica was made 12 years ago to take its place at parades on occasions such as St George's Day.
