SWINDON Town Ladies drew 1-1 at Reading in a South West Combination League fixture.
Reading took the lead in their first attack in the ninth minute, when Leila Dickinson crossed from the right to find Lisa Bryett who scored from close range.
Town fought back, and although they had much of the play, were unable to open up the Reading defence.
Hayley Sprules made a good run down the Town left but her swinging cross was well dealt with by Reading keeper Nic Snarey.
Kim Reeves and Michelle Rich tried their luck with long range efforts but both were wide of the target.
As the second half started so the heavens opened, and in the 55th minute when the rain turned to hail the referee took the players off the field for five minutes.
The break was just what Town needed and within five minutes were on level terms.
Carly Smith crossed from the Town's right and Reeves' header beat the keeper and rebounded off the Reading cross bar but Claire Moreton was on hand to drive the ball into the net.
Neither side were able to find the winning goal as conditions deteriorated. Town keeper Diane George saved well from Bev Hall and Louise Corcoran went close for the Town.

Town's reserve game gainst Wootton Bassett Town in the Wiltshire County League was cancelled because of a water- logged pitch.
Swindon Town Ladies A completed their first double of the season with a 10-0 trouncing of Keynsham.
Lewis got them off to a tremendous start, scoring after five minutes. Swindon played good flowing football and missed plenty of chances before captain Keene scored the second.
The Swindon girls went up gear in the second half, scoring eight goals through Lewis (3), New (2), Keene, Masters and Ellis.
