YOUNG people in Swindon are being given the chance to boost their CVs and gain valuable overseas work experience, thanks to an innovative job placement scheme.
Swindon Council is looking to send youngsters on a three-month work placement in Europe in April.
All costs, including flights, accommodation and food, will be met by the European Union's Leonardo da Vinci scheme, which funds young people to gain work experience within Europe.
The scheme is open to those aged between 18 and 25 and places people in the manufacturing and hospitality sectors.
One of the placements will be in Spain's Gran Canaria in Spain. There are also placements available in France, Italy and Germany.
Daryl Jones, the council's European and International officer, said all applicants needed was enthusiasm, a little language ability and the confidence to work in a foreign environment.
Mr Jones said: "An opportunity for young Swindon people to experience working for three months in another European country is something they dream about."
Interviews will be in Lichfield on February 28. For more information, call
