KENNET District Council's animal control officer Jenna Lovelock is appealing for a good home for a devoted couple of Springer Spaniels found straying before Christmas.
Ms Lovelock is keen to home the male and female together as they are so deeply attached.
A local couple discovered the dogs straying beside the A345 between Marlborough and Chiseldon on the Sunday before Christmas.
She said: "It is clear the female had only recently given birth as she still had milk leaking from her teats.
"The male dog absolutely dotes on the female. They have obviously been together as a pair for a while. They would make lovely pets."
Anyone who can offer a home to the canine Romeo and Juliet, should contact Ms Lovelock at Kennet District Council on (01380) 724911.
