THE parish council in Urchfont has called on villagers to come forward with ideas on what development they would like to see at Manor Farmyard in the centre of the village.
A plan to build 22 homes on the site was thrown out by Kennet District Council following a site meeting at the end of November, because it was considered to be out of keeping with the conservation area.
But the parish council has accepted the site will have to be redeveloped at some point, most likely for housing, and they want to prepare a development brief.
It has sent a circular asking residents to give their opinion on what sort of development they want to see on the site, how many homes and of what size, and what kind of community benefit should be negotiated.
It is not yet known whether the developers, Charles Church Homes, will be appealing against refusal.
