THIEVES who broke into a Marlborough travel agents at the weekend and ransacked the premises escaped empty handed.
The break in at Robins Travel in the High Street occurred between closing time at about 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday lunchtime.
The thieves forced the shop door and closed it after they left.
PC Andy Sexton, who is investigating, said it was not until a strong gust of wind blew the travel agent's door open on Sunday that the break-in was discovered.
PC Sexton said it was likely passers-by noticed activity inside the shop.
He said: "I would be very interested in hearing from anybody who saw anyone in Robins between Saturday afternoon and Sunday lunchtime or saw a anyone leaving the shop."
Although a search of the premises had been made he said nothing was stolen.
PC Sexton can be contacted at Marlborough police station on (01672) 512311 or information can be left on the Crimestoppers line 0800 555111.
